Feelings often arise before understanding. The body tightens. Anger rises. Sadness rolls in. Then the mind begins to explain: This happened because… I feel this because…

Our feelings are real. But the story we attach to a feeling is not necessarily fact.

Sensation, emotion, and interpretation often arrive as one intermingled experience. We may not recognize where the feeling ends and the explanation begins. Anxiety means something is wrong. Anger means someone intended to hurt us. Sadness means nothing will ever change.

Once we decide what a feeling means, that meaning shapes how we respond—and the story becomes part of the reality we experience.

In this 90-minute Salon, we will explore four distinct layers of experience: What do I sense? What do I feel? What meaning have I made? What do I actually know? What becomes possible when we allow a feeling to exist without immediately explaining or solving it? Can we honor what we feel without treating our interpretation as fact?

We are not dismissing our emotions or convincing ourselves that the story is untrue. The feeling is real. What it means remains open to question.

The flow of the Salon will be:

  • Teaching

  • Guided practice

  • Personal reflection with prompts

  • Connection and conversation

Bring your curiosity and a willingness to separate what you feel from what you believe it means.
