The Body As An Instrument

A Sacred Way Salon

The body is constantly receiving and organizing information from within us, around us, and between us.

It registers sensation, movement, safety, connection, tension, and subtle shifts that may never rise into conscious awareness.

While the body is always receiving information, noticing more is not the same as perceiving clearly. When the nervous system is dysregulated, sensitivity can become hypervigilance, receptivity can become overwhelming, and information can become difficult to separate from fear.

In this 90-minute Salon, we will explore the body as an instrument of perception. What becomes perceptible when we inhabit the body more fully? How do we distinguish between sensitivity and overwhelm? How can we receive information without immediately reacting to it?

Our intention is to understand the body as an instrument of consciousness and explore how we can notice more without being overtaken by everything we notice—becoming steadier, more sensitive, and more discerning in how we perceive.

The flow of the Salon will be:

  • Teaching

  • Guided practice

  • Personal reflection with prompts

  • Connection and conversation

Bring your curiosity and a willingness to experience the body not as an obstacle to spiritual understanding, but as the instrument through which consciousness experiences being human.
